On 14 July 2026, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission adopted Decisions Nos. 86−90 introducing mandatory reference data for common intellectual property processes within the Eurasian Economic Union.

The new code lists cover:

• language representation of information;
• participants in registration procedures;
• legally significant actions;
• application and registration statuses in the unified EAEU registers of trademarks and appellations of origin.

Decision No. 90 is particularly notable. It maps the lifecycle of an EAEU trademark application, including new and amended applications, acceptance, refusal, withdrawal, termination of proceedings, registration, cancellation and conversion into a national application.

The EAEU trademark system has not yet been launched. Applications cannot currently be filed, and no official launch date has been announced. Nevertheless, these Decisions create part of the machine-readable infrastructure required for data exchange between the five national IP offices and for maintaining the unified registers.

The EAEU Trademark Agreement has been in force since 26 April 2021. Once operational, the system should allow applicants to file a single application with the IP office of any member state and obtain protection across Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
