The Eurasian Patent Office has announced an increase in fees for actions related to the legal protection of inventions. The new fee regulations will come into effect on February 1, 2025.
How will the fees change?
• 50,000 RUB → 60,000 RUB — Unitary procedural fee for filing;
• 5,500 RUB → 6,500 RUB — For each claim exceeding the 5th;
• 6,000 RUB → 7,000 RUB — For each claim exceeding the 20th;
• 7,000 RUB → 7,500 RUB — For each claim exceeding the 50th.
• 50,000 RUB → 60,000 RUB — For the examination of one invention;
• 30,000 RUB → 35,000 RUB — For the second independent claim;
• 15,000 RUB → 20,000 RUB — For each subsequent independent claim.
• 30,000 RUB → 40,000 RUB — Grant of a Eurasian patent.
Applicants who are individuals can still benefit from a 50% fee reduction.
The fee changes do not affect actions related to the legal protection of industrial designs.
As a reminder, the Eurasian patent system allows applicants to obtain protection for inventions and industrial designs in multiple countries united by the Eurasian Patent Convention and its Protocol.
Patents for inventions granted by the Eurasian Patent Office are valid in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan.
