EAPO Joins the Hague System for Industrial Designs

On 10 July 2026, the Eurasian Patent Office announced that the Eurasian Patent Organization had deposited instruments of accession to the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs.

According to EAPO, the Eurasian Patent Office will start working with international design registrations under the Hague System on 10 October 2026.

EAPO’s accession adds a new international route for protecting industrial designs in the Eurasian region. Foreign applicants will be able to use the Hague System as part of their design filing strategy for the region, while applicants from EAPO member states will have an additional tool for managing international design protection.

The development is particularly relevant for industries where product appearance carries independent commercial value, including consumer goods, fashion, packaging, electronics, furniture, medical devices and digital products.
